FAQs

  • No, you are able to self refer to our services. If you do receive a referral please let us know at the time of booking. If you have multiple other health practitioners involved in your care we can liaise with them with your consent.

  • Yes we do.

If you have seen your GP and have been given a care plan, you are able to claim a rebate from Medicare for up to 5 physio sessions. As we are a private clinic there is still an out of pocket cost even with the medicare rebate. For care plans the entire service is required to be paid first, then we can rebate the Medicare amount (around $60) straight back into your account.

For private health the amount your private health covers is dependent on your insurer. We are able to claim your private health on the day of your appointment, meaning you only need to pay the gap out of pocket. Make sure you bring your card!

  • Yes you can! Our physio’s are all generalist musculoskeletal physiotherapists who have worked in private practice for many years. We have all completed additional postgraduate training in continence and pelvic health on top of our undergraduate training.

  • Of course! We understand how hard it can be to leave young babies or find care for children to attend appointments. We have small kids play spaces and baby swings/ bouncers set up in each treatment room to accommodate. Please feel free to bring in your pram/ carrier as needed.

  • An initial women’s health appointment generally involves a lot of history taking, an assessment, treatment and a provision of a management plan.

It can be helpful to wear clothes you are comfortable to move and exercise in eg. shorts/ tights and a shirt.

If you’ve booked for a general physio assessment shorts and a T shirt are recommended, with a bra that undoes at the back.

  • We have three reserved parking spaces for clients of Territory Women’s Clinic. If these are taken there is street parking on McCourt Rd, a small walk down into the clinic.

  • We are not a registered NDIS provider, however if you are self managed or plan managed (ie. not agency managed) then we can see you through your NDIS plan. Our pricing for NDIS is slightly higher than private fees due to the increased administrative demands and can be provided on request.

  • This is very normal. In some instances it often takes a lot of courage to even book the first appointment. Have a read of our “what to expect” page and watch the video of what a general consult might look like.

The biggest thing to remember is that you don’t have to do anything you are not 100% comfortable with. Our therapists ensure you feel safe, comfortable and in control throughout the entire session. You are allowed to say no at any point and are allowed to change your mind. We can still get so much out of a session even without using all the assessment tools that we have.
